PhotoWandsworth, the local photography contest now in its twenty-first year, is open to all non-professional photographers who live, work or study in the borough. This year’s theme is Magic and the deadline for entries is January 28th 2011.
The judging panel – which consists of photojournalist Jenni Rickets, photographer Ellen Perrier and Stuart Croft, tutor at the Royal College of Art – will be looking for unique, imaginative entries, which capture magical images of everyday scenes as well as experimental pictures.
A series of photographic workshops will take place between October and January to coincide with the competition.
Wandsworth Council’s arts spokesman Cllr Sarah McDermott says:
“Over the last 20 years we’ve had some truly exceptional entries and I’m excited to see how 2010 will measure up.
“It’s an exciting challenge for budding amateurs and a great reason for anyone with a camera to get out and explore the borough.”
The winners will be announced at a prizegiving event on March 3rd 2011, and there will be an exhibition of the winning and selected entries.
