Air ambulance attends scene as firefighters control the blaze
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats in Thessaly Road this morning (January 9th).
Half of a first floor flat was damaged by fire.
One man was treated at the scene by London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital. A woman suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene.
The Brigade was called at just after 8am and the fire was under control by 9.40am. Fire crews from Clapham, Lambeth and Brixton fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
