New restaurant Meat Up aims to bring you garden parties all year round

A new restaurant in Wandsworth is aiming to take no risks with the British weather and bring the garden party indoors.

MeatUp an all-day restaurant and late night bar, created by Sachin Khanna (former Libertine and Raffles owner), is set in an atrium, with bare bricks, an open-plan kitchen, dining counter and a living wall of ivy. There’s outside seating too so your BBQ won’t always have to be inside.

The 50-cover restaurant and 37-cover bar promises a the prosecco list among the longest in town.

Head Chef Stephen Hinkley, who comes via Meatopia and Foxlow (Hawksmoor Group), has created a menu that attempts to cater for all. U British ingredients, Stephen and the MeatUp team have created dishes such as: Ale braised grilled pig cheeks; Chargrilled free range spiced chicken pieces; Sticky, smoked and BBQ glazed 12hr beef short rib rubbed in signature MeatUp spices; and homemade sausages.

A fish and seafood selection including a Monkfish and pepper skewer; a 4 Cheese mac, with tiger prawns and young leaf salad, is also on offer; as well as salads of Grilled asparagus, courgette, pea, mint and Jersey royals which cover all tastes and barbecue penchants.


MeatUp will also be offering breakfast and brunch with dishes like smoked ham hock benedict; Tiger prawn royale; and Asparagus Florentine.

General Manager Adam Bylass, by way of Q Grill and Sushinho, will help you navigate the bar’s cocktail list with notables like the Lemon Curd Collins, made with Beefeater Gin, lemon curd, yellow Chartreuse, lemon juice and tonic.

The extensive Prosecco list has a wide range of DOC label wines from the Veneto regions including Vaporetto and Valdobbiadene, as well as Skinny Prosecco. Beers from Meantime Brewery and bottled craft beers of Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted, Hammerton Pentonville, Big Hug Himalayan, Hoxton Harry Masters Mary are also available.


The bar will host live music every Thursday showcasing acts ranging from blues, soul, jazz, swing and acoustic in addition to regular big-name DJs and ‘BYOV’ (Bring Your Own Vinyl) nights.

MeatUp is open seven days a week, Monday to Sunday from 10am to 10.30pm (12.30am on Thursdays and 1am Friday to Saturday) and is located at 350 Old York Road.
