JeffThere is a picture of your special Dansette on e-bay at present!I remember back in the 50’s thata particularly the posh record player was called a Pye Black Boxand some 10 years ago saw an “unused” one for sale in the big Glasgow Market. A missed opportunity.. in hindsight!Some of those reproduction record-players currently advertised in the Radio Times for example look inviting but wonder what the sound quality is really like…tinny?. I used to love playing the old Frank Sinatra’s and Chris Barber in days gone by and more recently my old Rachmaninov records…(cello sonata for example) but I sent my JVC record player away to Greenford for repair some 5 years back..but the firm the went broke and had disappeared by the time I drove over there to enquire about the delay!!Although an old RGD radiogram stills plays in my hall,, I’m interested in acquiring a smaller record player too..with good quality sound..so this thread is another invaluable lead. This old radiogram with a TV could be someones answer!!Is this a younger Tina with her Dansette?Annaberth:Your Ealing suggestion looks fine for £50!

Hello AudreyThanks for that. Because of problems in using FIH (see their Forum) I'm having to use Flickr and whilst it's more public ..it does have some interesting facilities for sorting pictures. Via the ORGANISE facility one can sort pictures into one's own litte groups. In addition, one can join Flickr Groups..like the one on TWICKENHAM or MAUVE! or RENAULT ESPACE!! One can spend hours and hours on that website.Do you use it? PS: my son is still in Redmond!
