St Anselm's Catholic School 50's &60's
Hello.I lived in Wandsworth as a child and went to St Anselm's Convent School, Tooting Bec (I understand it is now a state primary school). It was a big building with large gates and lovely grounds to play in. I was there from 1957 until 1962 when we moved away from London. Does anyone remember this school or better still, did you go there! I remember teachers..Mrs Gilly, Sister Mary and Sister Gabriel. I was very happy there and am on a nostalgia trip! There was a model shop acoss the road and if you put in 1p (old money) you could watch a model train go round in the window. We were not catholic, we went to Mary Magdalen church and there were 2 sweet shops nearby, Thompsons was one and the other Deans.XX Caroline (nee Dunmore, very late of 45 Herondale Avenue)
