One Nine Elms Get Goahead

This scheme which will be the tallest residential development in the UK will be visible from many parts of Wandsworth.Didn't realise that the scale was so big until just recently.I wonder if there really is an intention to link the site up with the tube network or was that just flannel to hoodwink the Council's planning committee?

Well perhaps I was being too cycnical. The Northern line extension was specifically mentioned in the Chancellor's Autumn statement and it looks as though sizeable funding is to be provided.

When Chiswick Business Park was looking to get planning permission there were concerns about transport infrastructure. The development is the second biggest office project in the UK outside Canary Wharf. £14 million was set aside for the building of a Piccadilly line station. London Underground said they didn't want it so the money was used for other purposes such as setting up Controlled Parking Zones in the surrounding area. The local station, Gunnersbury is currently having severe capacity issues.
