Testing text and images.As mentioned before there is a connection between Hounslow Barracks and Freemasonry.It is understood that King George VI insisted on the Duke of Edinburgh becoming a Freemason. “You’re not going to marry my daughter without becoming a Mason” ! The Duke reluctantly did and seemingly kept a low profile.The King certainly was a Mason and many kings before him too including King George IV as discussed on the Chiswick Forum many years ago on the thread to do with “Clan MacTavish” . In the image below King George VI is in the centre at a Scottish Lodge event.In 1967 Roger Lumley, the 11th Earl of Scarborough stood down as Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England.  The Duke of Kent took over at the time he was a serving Army Officer at Hounslow Barracks…and the image and text below has be found on E-Bay!“This is an original press photo.
