Stay Safe on the School Bus

Advice issued ahead of the new school year

South West London based transport specialists, Healthcare and Transport Services (HATS) Group, are providing school children with handy road safety guides in support of #SaveKidsLives.

“Providing passenger care and assistance has always been one of the most important parts of our job,” says HATS CEO Henry Bilinski. “We do everything in our power to ensure that all of our home to school transport services run as safely as possible, and by getting the community involved we can help raise awareness for safe school travel in the UK and abroad.”

Founded in 1995, the HATS Group have been providing public sector healthcare transport in London for over 20 years. Dedicated to the delivery of affordable and efficient home to school and patient transport, HATS are continuing to promote safe travel on their services across London.

#SaveKidsLives is a campaign set up to promote road safety across the world. Coordinated by the UN Global Road Safety Collaboration, the worldwide initiative calls for Governments to commit to take action at the Global High Level Conference on Road Safety in Brasilia on 17th-19th of November 2015.

As part of the growing campaign, communities, schools, children, teachers, parents and businesses are being encouraged to sign the #SaveKidsLives online declaration, and spread the word via social media.

Speaking about the #SaveKidsLives campaign, HATS CEO Henry Bilinski said: “Over 500 children across the world lose their lives every day due to traffic incidents. And it’s something that needs be addressed.

“We’re lucky enough to have a transport system in the UK which is reliable and safe, but in other places in the world, that’s not the case. Getting to school, to gain an education shouldn’t be dangerous, and children shouldn’t have to risk their lives in the process.”
