The annual Wandsworth Business Awards, now in their sixth year, recognise the borough’s most innovative, successful and customer-friendly firms. They are organised by the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce and sponsors include Wandsworth Council, McDonalds, South Thames College, Banham Security and Battersea Power Station.

Steve Pinto, CEO of the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce, said, “I continue to be very impressed with the quality, enthusiasm and passion of the businesses that enter these awards. These awards demonstrate that Wandsworth is an exciting place to work and recognition from these awards can make a difference when securing new customers and new business. Applications are welcome from all local businesses in the borough, large and small and there is no limit to the number of categories that can be entered”.

The award categories are:

Best Business for Marketing & Social Media
Best SME Business
Best Business for Customer Service
Entrepreneur of the Year
Best Charity or Social Enterprise
Best New Business
Employer of the Year
Independent Retailer of the Year
Best Eatery
Innovator of the Year
Best International Business of the Year
Business of the Year

The Council is sponsoring the Best New Business Award and will be giving the shortlisted nominees in that category a chance to attend the awards ceremony in November at the Roehampton Club for free.

Council business spokesman Cllr Rory O’Broin said, “SMEs are the backbone of our local economy and Wandsworth has been recognised as a great place to start and grow a business. The council is keen to celebrate and promote local enterprise and these awards give businesses a chance to show what they have to offer. I would urge all businesses to consider entering.”
