Lukasz Laskowski discovers he has 10 GCSEs A-C including a 7 in English
Ark Putney Academy congratulated their year 11 students on their GCSE results today. The school excelled under the new measures, announcing that 71% of students achieved grades 9-4 in both English and Maths, with 83% gaining 9-4 in English Literature.
Sabir Abdalla was awarded 10 GCSEs graded A*-B, receiving a grade 9 in English Literature, the highest grade possible to achieve in the new GCSE9 system.
Sabir said: “I want to be a computer programmer when I’m older, to create games and become an entrepreneur. That would be a dream job for me to accomplish. This school is amazing, they listened to my aspirations and are organising programming work experience for me next year. I’d like to go to university at UCL after I’ve finished my A Levels.”
Daniel Edgeley also achieved 10 GCSEs at grades A*-B, Daniel was awarded a 9 in English Language and hopes one day to become a lawyer.
Daniel, pictured above, said: “I’m proud of my results. The way I see it, if you can do something, then you have the moral obligation to yourself to do it to your best ability otherwise you’re kind of cheating yourself. I really like the teachers here at Ark Putney and I’m going to stay here for sixth form, because I feel that they know me well, and I’ll learn a lot more than if I went somewhere else. This is the place I feel most comfortable in learning.”
