Missing Mental Health Issues Patient "a risk to himself and the public"

Abdul Nahar absconded from Wandsworth facility two weeks ago

Police are increasingly concerned for the health of Abdul Nahar, 26, who absconded from a secure mental health unit in Wandsworth two weeks ago.

Abdul Nahar was last seen just after midday on Tuesday 26 April on Burntwood Lane. Police say he has mental health issues and is a risk to the public and himself. The public are advised not to approach him.

He is described as a black man, 5ft 7ins tall, with short black hair and a beard. When last seen, he was wearing a blue jacket, grey tracksuit trousers and flip-flops.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Neville said, "It is imperative that we find Abdul Nahar to ensure that he continues to receive the support that he requires. There is also a risk that the longer he remains missing, the greater threat he may pose to the public.

"I would urge anyone who knows where Abdul is to contact police."

Abdul is known to frequent Westminster, Croydon and surrounding areas.

Anyone who knows of Abdul's whereabouts is asked to call 999 immediately as he has a history of violence and could pose a threat if confronted.
