Concern for missing Putney woman

Wandsworth Police are appealing to the public for help to trace a vulnerable missing person who was last seen on railway tracks in Barnes.

Rosemary Mehmet, 48, from Norley Vale, Putney, SW15 is suffering from depression and disappeared when she left her parents' home at The Pleasance in Putney, SW15 at 11.30 on 18/8/05. She told her parents she was going for a short walk but did not return.

At 13.13 members of the public reported a woman, believed now to be Rosemary, on railway tracks close to Barnes rail station. Police attended and conducted a thorough search of the area with dogs and the police helicopter but did not locate her.

Rosemary is described as being of Mediterranean appearance with a thin build, 5ft 7ins tall with wavy dark brown shoulder length hair.

She was wearing a silver bracelet; silver rings and silver hooped earrings and a grey tracksuit with hood and white t-shirt. On her feet she wore silver flop-flops.

Police and Rosemary's family are extremely concerned for her welfare because she has recently been suffering from severe depression and she has no money or any other property with her.
