Tackling Domestic Violence

MARAC is here for you

What is MARAC?

MARAC = Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference.

It is a forum where multiple agencies get together to provide a co-ordinated response for those at the highest risk of domestic abuse.

Why have a MARAC?

To have co-ordinated, appropriate and effective safety plan for victims of domestic abuse it is necessary for professionals from across a range of services to share information.

Who attends?

Agencies from across Wandsworth Borough regularly attend the MARAC including,

  • Wandsworth Borough Police
  • London Probation
  • Wandsworth Safety Net
  • Adult & Children’s Services
  • Housing
  • Education Welfare
  • Mental Health Services
  • Health Care Professionals
  • Drug & Alcohol Professionals

How can MARAC help me?

If you are referred to MARAC by, for example, your key worker it will be because they believe you may be at high risk of domestic violence. The professionals who attend the MARAC will work together to provide you with services that meet your individual requirements.

The MARAC may be able to assist with;

  • emergency housing moves
  • referrals to drug and/or alcohol services
  • help with the Stay Put Stay Safe scheme
  • arranging to have all calls to your address prioritised by police

If you are a victim of domestic abuse and feel the MARAC is something that could be beneficial to you please contact your key worker and speak to them about getting referred.
