Skip Lorry Driver Arrested


Following collision with cyclist on West Hill

A 34- year old skip lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving after a collision with a cyclist on West Hill in Putney. The accident was on 31st May at 7.15am.

The 35-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital after the accident close to the entrance to the Esso petrol station, but he is now recovering at home.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of careless driving. He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early July.

Det Con John Roberts said: “This stretch of road was fairly busy with commuters at the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who may have seen any of the parties in the moments leading up to the collision, or the collision itself, to contact police.”
