Justine Greening Joins In World's Biggest Coffee Morning

With local MPs from Battersea and Wimbledon

Last week local MP, Justine Greening took part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer.

Justine hosted the coffee morning at her Wandsworth Constituency Office with local MPs Jane Ellison, Battersea, and Stephen Hammond, Wimbledon, and was joined by Councillors and local volunteers to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer.

With plenty of cakes and coffee donated, over one hundred pounds was raised at the coffee morning to support Macmillan Cancer’s work to helps improve the lives of people affected by cancer, both those living with cancer and also their families and carers.

Each year around 800,000 people participate in Macmillan Cancer’s “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” (WBCM) fundraising events across the UK, bringing together people from all walks of life. Last year 2115 people, companies and community groups took part in WBCM in South London, raising a fantastic £340,990. This year Macmillan Cancer is hoping to raise over £370,000.

With her coffee in hand Justine said,“It’s great to be able to take part in such a fantastic event and raise money for a very worthwhile cause. Macmillan Cancer do a lot of great work locally supporting local residents and their families.  I know a number of businesses and residents in Putney were holding their own coffee mornings which I hope where as good a success as ours!”
