The Work Match Recruitment Roadshow will begin a tour of the borough next week as Wandsworth Council continues its local employment drive.
The team’s first stop will be on 30th July at Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth Town, from 10am - 2pm, where they will showcase a range of exciting job and training opportunities for local people.
Residents can come and meet the team of specialist placement officers, find out about live vacancies in the local area and get top tips on how to succeed with job applications and interviews.
Local businesses are also being encouraged to pay the team a visit to find out how they can help them with their recruitment needs.
Work Match’s services are free to Wandsworth based employers. They are already working with a range of national and local businesses to help them identity suitable, job-ready candidates from within the borough. Work Match helped Sainsbury’s on Garratt Lane to fill 11 new jobs.
The team’s focus is on securing sustainable, long term job outcomes so they ensure every candidate they put forward is well prepared, equipped and qualified for the role.
Since starting up late last year Work Match has secured jobs for more than 100 people and helped hundreds more through jobs fairs and pre-employment skills training. Current vacancies the team is looking to fill include business administrator, catering assistant, labourer, carpenter and call centre supervisor.

“Wandsworth’s economy in on the rise and it’s a great time to get into training or start a new career. We have new jobs being created all over the borough with particular hotspots in Nine Elms and Wandsworth Town where major regeneration work is powering ahead. The Work Match team is here to ensure unemployed local people have the support they need to take up these new opportunities. They will help you find a job or training role that is right for you and will support you through the application process."
The Recruitment Roadshows take place from 10am to 2pm at the following dates and places:

Thursday 14th August – By Jamie’s Recipease, St Johns Road, Clapham Junction
