"rose tinted glasses"...
In advance of tonights Council meeting Stuart King the recently appointed Leader of the Opposition in Wandsworth Council believes that "Complaints are now at an eight year high."
In a recent press release in which the Council outlines their plans for a better borough they confirm that Wandsworth Council has been judged "an excellent council by the Audit Commission for three years running". However Stuart King states that in his opinion:
"The rose-tinted picture painted of council services is actually somewhat
removed from reality once you delve into the detail.
Last year the council received 25,000 complaints from disgruntled residents
an increase of 20%. Complaints are now at an eight year high.
Of particular concern to me is the council's poor performance against
its education targets. Last year the council failed to achieve 20 of its
21 education targets. Performance is under target across all age
groups. The council needs to do much better."
