Sadiq Khan looks certain to be declared London Mayor this afternoon with the vote count so far showing him with a clear lead on first vote preferences. The final result is currently expected to be declared at around 5pm.

As at 9.35pm the vote count in the Merton and Wandsworth constituency suggested that it was going to be close between the Labour candidate Leonie Cooper and David Dean for the Conservatives on first preference votes. With the Greens in third place and the Liberal Democrats in fourth ahead of UKIP it is being widely assumed that Labour will get a higher level of second preference votes.

Labour also currently seems to have the lead in the vote for London wide assembly members with the Greens in third behind the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats currently being edged out by UKIP.

The constituency results are scheduled to be announced at some time around 3pm.
