Visit Britain's Oldest Collection of Newspaper Archive

See some fascinating history on March 22nd - visits must be booked

The News International Archive is the largest and oldest established collection in the British newspaper industry and holds material relating to The Times, The Sunday Times, the Times Supplements, The Sun, News of the World, Today and other past titles.

The Times is the oldest national daily newspaper in publication today.

The archive has been in formally constituted since the 1930s though we have a letter in The Times' archive from 1899 which refers to the "office archives".

The archive includes correspondence from politicians (Churchill, Stalin), authors (Dickens, Wilde, Hardy), social reformers and explorers (Nightingale, Shackleton, Hunt) as well as some of our famous staff such as Ian Fleming, Graham Greene, Kim Philby and William Howard Russell. We also hold a varied collection of artefacts and advertising posters.
