Clare Balding Joins Teams To Row Hard For Neuro-disability

Registration is now open and already over 30% of places have been filled

Chiswick resident Clare Balding, is the VIP guest at Row Hard 2013, which will see teams of City workers swapping their suits for sweatpants, in a rowing machine-relay contest at the top of City Hall. The event will raise much-needed funds for London-based brain injury charity, the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN).

On Thursday 27 June, employees from companies including Google and Capita will battle it out, covering a distance of 2,000 metres in relay, striving for the fastest team time. There are still places available for companies and individuals to participate in the challenge and for those wanting to get in on the action without competing, there are spectator tickets available too.

Voice of the London Olympics and Paralympics Clare Balding is no stranger to a competitive atmosphere, and said:
“I’m so excited to be involved in Row Hard 2013 which will raise vital funds to help some of the UK’s most disabled adults. It’s a great energetic event and I can’t wait to see the teams battling it out.”

Now in its fourth year, Row Hard is a firm favourite in the City calendar, with 144 participants enjoying panoramic views over London whilst competing head-to-head to raise vital funds for the RHN, pitting their fitness, determination and wits against their competitors from around the City.

Google have three teams taking part this year, and have embraced the competition, as team member Bronnie Spencer comments:
“We’re really excited to be taking part in Row Hard this year, in fact so much so we held trials with more than 40 other Googlers to seek out the best competitors for our three teams!”

The RHN hopes to raise £45,000 which will help fund their Biomedical Engineering and Aquability services, two of the 12 additional fundraised services at the RHN which restore independence and quality of life to adults affected by neurological disability.
