Wandsworth Social services - help at Christmas


Numbers to call if you require assistance over the festive period

People who need help or assistance from Wandsworth Council's social services department over the Christmas holiday period are being advised to call the following telephone numbers.  

If there is a serious problem with the care of a child or adult on a bank holiday or out of normal office hours, the council’s emergency services, including an emergency duty social worker, can be contacted by telephoning (020) 8871 6000.

Adults with mental health problems or their carers should contact the Crisis Service on 0800 028 8000 or their GP.

Home carers and meals on wheels staff will be working as normal throughout the festive holiday period. If any problems are experienced with these services people should telephone the out-of-hours service on (020) 8871-6000.

Further information about local health and social services is available from CareLine. Staff there can be contacted by telephone on (020) 8875-0500 or by email at careline@clara.net. Their website is www.careline.org.uk. CareLine's office will be closed on bank holidays and Sundays but is normally open from 10am to 8pm weekdays and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Over the Christmas period CareLine will be available on all normal working days and will also be on hand to take calls on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve between 10am and 1pm.

The social services department at the town hall will be closed over the Christmas bank holiday period. It will reopen as normal from December 27 to 29 but close again over the New Year bank holiday. It will reopen as normal on Tuesday, January 2.
