Teens Accused Of GBH After Southfields School Stabbing


16 year old appears in court after being held in custody

Detectives investigating the stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in the lobby area of the secondary school Southfields Academy on Merton Road, SW18 have accused a 16-year-old boy of grievous bodily harm.

He appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 12 November.

Three other teenage boys aged between 14 and 16 who were arrested on suspicion of GBH have been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in late November.

Police were called to to a scene outside Southfields Academy at approximately 3.10pm on Tuesday (10 November) following reports that a teenager had suffered a stab injury to the leg after an incident in the lobby area of the secondary school in Merton Road.

The Metropolitan Police said, 'London Ambulance service attended and the male was treated - his injury is not serious.'

The school posted the following statement on its web site from Principal Jackie Valin and Headteacher Wanda Golinska, 'As some of you may be aware an incident occurred outside the school today. The student involved is in a stable condition. If you or your child have any information about this incident then please telephone 101 and ask for Wandsworth CID.'
