Do You Know An Unsung Hero?

Don’t miss your chance to nominate someone special to the community

Last year's unsung heros

Time is running out to nominate unsung community heroes for a Wandsworth Civic Award. The deadline for nominations is October 17.

The Civic Awards are a way of saying thank you to local people who have volunteered their services over a long period of time to help others.

They shine the spotlight on people who are the backbone of local communities, including charity workers, people who run local clubs or groups or just someone who acts as a helping hand to friends or neighbours - anyone whose tireless work has made a difference to the area.

Last year’s winners included Sid Khan from the Earlsfield Boxing Club, Sheila Hill for her contribution to local history and heritage, Shakeel Ahmed Syed, who has supported numerous causes in Tooting, and the Wandsworth Parent Champions who raise awareness of support available to families with disabled children.

How to nominate:

Your nomination must include the nominee's name, phone number and email address, plus your name and contact details, and details of why they deserve an award. Deadline for entries is October 17.
• Complete the online form or
• Email pbattista@wandsworth.gov.uk or
