BT ArtBox & ChildLine are looking for vision
This summer all eyes will be on London as the city hosts the Olympic and Paralympic Games. BT ArtBox is a chance for artists to be at the heart of the excitement while raising over a million pounds for ChildLine. BT ArtBox will be an open-air art exhibition, celebrating 25 years of ChildLine.
Life sized fibreglass replicas of the iconic Sir Giles Gilbert Scott K6 telephone box will be transformed into stunning artworks and displayed across the Capital in the run up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games between June and July 2012.
BT ArtBox is looking for artists from all disciplines to explore and re-imagine the classic BT phone box, whilst retaining its integrity as a British icon.

Since 1986, ChildLine has given millions of children in distress or danger the one thing they need most: a voice. To celebrate ChildLine’s 25th anniversary, BT are launching BT ArtBox – a public art installation and hope to raise £1 million, allowing ChildLine to answer a further 250,000 calls..
For bullied, abused or neglected children, ChildLine is the only place they can go to talk about their troubles without being judged. It’s vital that no call or email goes unanswered – you can help.
Throughout June and July 2012, BT ArtBoxes will be on display in high-profile locations across the capital and on July 18th there will be a gala auction at the National Portrait Gallery where the ArtBoxes will be auctioned to raise money for ChildLine.
Artists are permitted to submit more than one design and each design will need to be supported with a creative vision. The deadline for artist submissions is 16 March 2012.
