As the 84th International Alba White Truffle Fair is drawing to a close (11 Oct - 16 Nov), Enoteca Turi Restaurant in Putney commences a fortnight given over to this delicacy, now at its best.

Word hot off the press is that this year’s white truffles are of excellent quality, with prices stable at around £2500 per kilo, slightly down on last year’s £3000-£3500.
Their talented new Head Chef, Michele Blasi is in his element, and has enjoyed putting together a special menu, purposely designed to compliment this delicacy.

Cream of cauliflower with slow cooked organic free range egg
Fillet of lemon sole, crushed aura potato, spinach and shallot sauce
Warm parcels of organic beef filled with Jerusalem artichokes and robiola fonduta, bagna cauda
Risotto with artichoke and Maccagno cheese
Fillet of turbot, gratinated Swiss chard, polenta gnocchetti and yellow pepper sauce
Slow roast veal shoulder milanese, cardoon souffle’ and deep fried cardoon
Carrot and hazelnut tart, sweet cherry preserve, vanilla ice cream
Selection of homemade ice cream and granitas
