Next Advice Event For EU Residents

To help EU Nationals worried about their post-Brexit status on September 17

Book your place now at the event, delivered on behalf of the council by Citizens Advice Wandsworth, which will be held at the White Eagle Club in Balham.

It is suitable for local residents who are EU nationals, plus voluntary and community sector workers and professionals wanting to find out more about the impact of Brexit.

Citizens Advice Wandsworth ‘s EU Advice Project advisers will give a presentation to help EU Nationals understand their options as the UK prepares to leave the EU and answer questions about residence and British citizenship. Following the presentation there will be time for questions.

It follows three events held earlier this year - two at the town hall and one in Southfields - which were each attended by around 100 people, many of whom were unaware that they need to take action to secure their right to remain in the UK.

The session will answer questions such as:

When and how can you apply for a document certifying Permanent Residence
When and how can you apply for British Citizenship
What is “settled status” and how will you qualify?
Leader of the council Ravi Govindia said: “People have told us that they found these sessions helpful, so we will continue to work with Citizens Advice Wandsworth to ensure our citizens who are EU nationals get the facts they need. This time we will be at the Polish White Eagle Club, but people of all nationalities are welcome.”
