Free Self Help Event For Residents

Lots of advice and information as well as a free lunch will be provided

Wandsworth residents with any type of long term physical or mental health condition can come along to a free self-help event on Tuesday 15 October to find out about local groups, why join them, what they can do for you and how to start your own one up if you want to. Lots of advice and information as well as a free lunch will be provided.

Dr Peter Ilves, local GP and Clinical Lead for Self-management at Wandsworth CCG says:
“We know that people who are supported to manage their health conditions feel better, and more confident and in control when dealing with doctors and nurses. It has been proven through courses like the Expert Patients Programme that when patients are given the techniques and skills to manage their conditions it has a positive impact on their quality of life.”

Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is working with Self Help Nottingham and local charity, Lifetimes, to create a thriving self-help group sector in Wandsworth. We are transforming the NHS in Wandsworth by putting a huge emphasis on empowering patients to get more confident at dealing with their health conditions as well as work with their doctors and nurses to feel more in control.

Wandsworth Self-Management Programme (WSMP) covers a range of courses, support, information and self-help groups so that patients can get the advice and information they need to improve their health and well-being.
