Smokers are being urged to take the first step in giving up cigarettes

For the next two months there will be a quick and convenient stop smoking drop-in clinic at Asda supermarket in Roehampton. The clinic offers advice, information and support to anyone wanting help to stop smoking.

Anyone can just pop in and talk to the team – no appointment is necessary. Please visit: Asda Roehampton, every Saturday until March 26 , 11am – 4pm

National research shows that you are up to four times more likely to quit successfully if you use a combination of stop smoking medicine and help and support from the free local stop smoking service.

Two-thirds of smokers want to quit, but one in five UK adults continue to smoke, including 14 per cent of Wandsworth residents.

Houda Al-Sharifi Director of Public Health said:
“We understand that the majority of smokers want to stop smoking, but many find the task too daunting. No Smoking Day is the perfect opportunity to inspire smokers in Wandsworth to quit for good.

“With support, smokers are more likely to succeed in their quit attempt. That is why Wandsworth Public Health will be out in force on No Smoking Day, helping smokers access the range of local services and resources available to them.”
