One of Ireland’s leading actors Frank Grimes performs his portrait of one of the world’s greatest literary figures, James Joyce at Earlsfield's Tara Arts Theatre on Friday May 3rd and Saturday May 4th.

With extracts from Finnegans Wake, The Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Dubliners and Ulysses, this performance is being billed as a superb tribute to the man and his work.


Frank Grimes was born in Dublin and trained at the Abbey Theatre. He scored an early success on Broadway as Brendan Behan in the Tony Award winning BorstalBoy. Frank received a Tony Nomination for Best Actor and was voted, “Most Promising Actor” by the New York critics in Variety. Frank has worked extensively in the London theatre, including the Royal Court, the Royal Shakespeare Company and The National Theatre.

Frank's many film and television credits include, A Bridge Too Far, Britannia Hospital, The Whales of August, The Outsider, My Son, MySon, Strumpet City, Blind Justice, When The Sky Falls, Kavanagh QC and Barry in Coronation Street. During his acting career Frank has won many awards for his TV and stage work. His most recent stage appearance was Mr Tyler in All That Fall at the Arts Theatre.
