Christmas Collections in Wandsworth Borough

Festive rubbish and recycling collection dates

25 December and 1 January: no collections
26-29 December and 2-5 January: collections run a day late.

Christmas trees will be recycled from January 2 to January 15 on the same day as your rubbish and recycling. Put the tree at the front of your property where it can be clearly seen. If you live in a block of flats put it near the refuse bin store, but please don't block access for the binmen.

People are urged to recycle as much as possible over the festive period. Wrapping paper (except the metallic kind), Christmas cards and the cardboard boxes from presents can all be recycled, as can

  • Wine bottles
  • Christmas pudding bowls and cream pots (rinsed)
  • Plastic vegetable trays
  • Ice-cream tubs
  • Cranberry sauce jars
  • Drinks cans
  • Custard tins

Please don't put foil mince pie containers, bubble wrap or polystyrene, shredded or foam packaging or Quality Street or biscuit selection tins in with your recycling. Metals tins can be taken to the scrap metal bay at the Smugglers Way Household Waste and Recycling Centre.

For a full list of what can and can't be recycled, visit www.wandsworth.gov.uk/recyclefromhome.
