Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra perform for Mayor's charity
A classical music concert in aid of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is taking place on Sunday 23rd April 2006 at the Civic Suite on Wandsworth High Street.
The Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Keith Stent will be performing music by Sullivan, Vaughan Williams, Malcolm Grimston, Malcolm Arnold, Henry Wood and Edward Elgar.
Supported by the Mayor of Wandsworth, Cllr Diana Wittingham the event will raise money for the Mayor’s charity of the year.
Gaz Daly, Director of Development - Fundraising for the Royal Hospital says; “It is a great honour to be the Mayor’s charity of the year again in 2006. I am looking forward to this event, not only as an enjoyable evening of music to raise funds for the hospital, but also a celebration of this title.”
The Royal Hospital, based in Putney, specialises in assessing and rehabilitating adults with traumatic brain injuries incurred through accidents or strokes.
It also provides treatment and long-term care for people with severe and complex neurological conditions, including Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy.
