The council's waste management team is reminding residents that there will be no change to refuse and recycling collections in Wandsworth over Christmas and the New Year.
Residents can also have their Christmas trees collected for recycling free of charge for a two-week period beginning on January 2.
People should leave their tree alongside the ordinary rubbish (in the front garden where possible). At blocks of flats, please take care not to block access to the rubbish bins. Trees will be collected on the same day as the rubbish, shredded and sent for composting. Trees can also be taken to Smugglers Way or Cringle Dock Civic Amenity sites. Unwanted trees should not be left on the pavement or dumped in the road.
Residents are also being reminded that refuse collectors are not permitted to ask households for money or other gratuities. Any approaches by refuse collectors should be reported to the council's waste management team on 020 8871-8558. This number is also available for general enquiries.
