Suitable for all ages and abilities this inclusive event sees children, parents and grandparents run, walk or jog around the 5k course in support of the world famous children’s hospital. Participants can join individually or in teams and with post-race activities and entertainment.

Supported by Royal Bank of Canada for the sixth year running, last year, over 6,000 people joined in, raising more than £814,000. This year the charity hopes to raise more funds for the new state of the art buildings and facilities for patients and their families.

The new facilities will replace cramped, outdated wards with world class facilities to match the hospital’s world class care, providing much-needed space for a parent or carer to stay by the child’s bedside overnight, more room for children to play and eat together and areas for parents to have a break.

Actress Tina Hobley said: “I took part last year with the whole family and the atmosphere was really special. It’s a great day out for friends and family to enjoy and most importantly it helps to raise money for a fantastic cause, I urge everyone to get their trainers on and take part! ”

Kirstin Price from Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity said: “We’re delighted to be holding the RBC Race for the Kids for the sixth year running, It’s a truly inspiring day. By taking part, you are helping to rebuild and refurbish the hospital which will enable us to care for more sick children and their families.
