Meet Staff Who Manage Small Local Parks

And give them your ideas

Staff from Wandsworth's Parks Department will be visiting the borough’s smaller open spaces to field questions and listen to local people’s views about how these areas could be enhanced and improved.

The council is currently conducting a public consultation on the best ways of looking after and protecting these small local parks. The feedback will help shape future management plans.

Officers in the parks team will be visiting the open spaces listed belo over the next four weeks, as part of the consultation so that they can answer questions and get some face-to-face feedback.

Wandsworth’s environment spokesman Cllr Jonathan Cook, said: “We are blessed to live in a beautiful green borough with some really amazing parks and open spaces.

“All told there are around 1,600 acres of parks and green spaces in Wandsworth. This includes larger spaces like Battersea Park, Wandsworth Common and Tooting Common as well as those that are managed by other external organisations such as Putney Heath, Wimbledon Common and the parkland around Springfield Hospital.

“But a large proportion of this total is represented by the 25 smaller local parks that are really valuable to local people. We want to ensure that these important little oases continue to play an active role in the heart of their communities and provide places that can be used for recreation, fun and relaxation.

”We want people to tell us how they use their local neighbourhood parks, how well they think they’re managed and if they feel they could be improved in any way. This feedback will help us draw up plans to make them even better.”

Details of the feedback sessions are as follows...
