Chiswick RNLI Recover Body From River


The lifeboat was called to Putney Bridge area today

Chiswick Lifeboat crew have recovered a body of a male from the foreshore of the river near Putney Bridge.

The lifeboat was alerted at around 8.30 a.m. this morning, (Jan 8th) and proceeded to the area. Police with diving crews, the RNLI & ambulance crews were on Putney embankment this morning to pull the body from the river.

The body was taken away for formal identification. It is understood that it may have been in the river for several days and was lifted to the foreshore by the tide.

The RNLI placed the body in a body bag and took it by stretcher to the ramp by Putney Bridge, where it was taken away by ambulance.

The identity of the victim has yet to be confirmed.
