as Laings get go ahead to build 128 homes at the old Morganite factory

The scheme will include resurfacing of the footway along Point Pleasant and Osiers Road. The modern, white-rendered facade of the buildings will incorporate large
three storey archways to reflect the original Morganite Factory.

Planning applications chairman Ravi Govindia said:

"Members are pleased to see this large cleared site developed with an attractive modern design that maintains a historical link with the

old factory.

"The development will add to the already extensive regeneration of the Wandle Delta area and takes the number of new affordable homes planned across the borough to more than 2,000."

The scheme for the long vacant site must now be considered by the Mayor of London before approval can be granted.
