Volunteers Needed For School Appeal Panels

To help determine appeals for schools admissions and exclusions in Wandsworth.

Local people are needed to sit on the borough’s Independent Appeal Panel for school admissions and exclusions?

These panels are independent of the council and local schools and meet periodically throughout the year, but mainly in the summer term, to hear and decide on appeals made by parents and guardians of children who are either refused admission to primary and secondary schools, or who are permanently excluded from schools and pupil referral units.

They hear appeals for community schools in Wandsworth and also some voluntary-aided and foundation schools and academies.

People interested in volunteering to sit on these panels would receive full training.

Further information and an application form can be obtained from either Thayyiba Shaah or Ozu Okere by telephoning on (020) 8871 6039/6035 or by emailing educationappeals@wandsworth.gov.uk
