Your Invite To Meet Wandsworth Council Leader

Have a one-to-one chat with Ravi Govindia

The next Let’s Talk event, giving local people the chance to have a one-to-one chat with the leader of Wandsworth Council, will be held at Waitrose, Wandsworth on Saturday September 10th.

Let's Talk is a new series of events that will be held at various venues across the borough. Cllr Govindia is keen to hear what local people think about council services, including street cleaning, parking, schools and housing, and what else the council should be doing to meet local needs.

The events are part of the Wandsworth Challenge - a new approach from the Council aimed at providing better public services in these times of tough financial pressures. Key to the Challenge is more involvement from the community and better engagement with local people.

A string of autumn sessions is planned to give as many people as possible the chance to have their say. These include open surgeries at supermarkets including Waitrose in Wandsworth on September 10th from 10am to noon, Sainsbury's in Tooting on September 20th from 2pm to 4pm and Clapham Junction Asda on September 27th from 6pm to 8pm. There is no need to book a place - just turn up.

Cllr Govindia will also be attending ward Listening to You meetings.

Cllr Govindia said: "I want to meet as many people as possible, from all over the borough, and have a honest and constructive one-to-one dialogue with them. The Wandsworth Challenge is all about the council working more effectively with local communities and putting more power in the hands of local people. We can only do that if we know which issues concern them and what they expect from us."
