This year the programme includes storytelling and dance, music, talks and workshops.

Highlights include

• A learning to hair braid workshop at Wandsworth Town Library
• Anthony Onabanjo's Yes You Can workshop at Balham Library. This uses case studies of successful black personalities to inspire others.
• Trained classical singer and teacher Krishna Ray brings classical and contemporary music to her Asian music workshop (pictured).
• Putney Library hosts an event on the life and legacy of African-British classical music composer and Pan-Africanist Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
• People of African, Caribbean and Asian heritage can find out more about vitamin D deficiency from nutritionist and writer Brenda Lee.
• Science-fiction author Uzor Chinukwe will look at African leadership since independence from colonial rule and if Africa has been left behind in the digital age.

Throughout the month there will a chance to view two photographic exhibitions from the National Archives - An Indian Album will be showcased at Southfields Library, while Wandsworth Town Library will feature Memories from the Islands - a community-curated exhibition by Caribbean elders.

There will also be special children's events. Full details are available at your local library.

Most of the events are free, though booking is essential.
