Business Advice Workshop

Recession beating advice to small businesses

The council is offering a free event which offers guidance on how to overcome today’s difficult trading conditions and a valuable opportunity to network with other local businesses and exchange ideas.

The workshop takes place at 7pm, Thursday 18 June at Blend, 111-113 Wandsworth High Street.

Topics covered will include business development, budget control, planning and advice on applying for a renovation grant from Wandsworth Council.

Speakers will include GLE oneLondon business adviser Colm McMenamin and Wandsworth Council town centre improvement scheme manager John Ruske.

If you have a business in the area and wish to attend please RSVP to edo@wandsworth.gov.uk or call (020) 8871 6884.

Traders can also sign up for a full businesses health check from the GLE oneLondon experts. Advisors can visit firms on an individual basis to analyse the potential for improvement, returning at a later date to check on progress.

Wandsworth’s regeneration spokesman, Cllr James Cousins said:

“We are providing free business coaching sessions all over the borough to ensure local firms have easy access to recession beating advice. Our traders can also benefit from a full efficiency assessment from our partners at GLE oneLondon.

“The council is working hard to keep our borough ahead of the London market and offer support to businesses feeling the effects of the recession.  As well as encouraging inward investment, tackling vacant shops and supplying grants to small traders we are the only council in London offering relief to firms hit by business rate hikes last April.”
