Council Supports Local Hidden Balham Guide

New pocket guide to help people get the most out of the town centre

Produced by the local business community with support from Wandsworth Council, a new pocket guide to ‘hidden Balham’ includes an easy to use map showing the location of every local attraction including the missed gems some shoppers miss out on.

Executive member for environment and culture, Wandsworth Cllr Sarah McDermott says:
"Balham is a delightful place to visit. As well as a bustling high street there are boutique shopping parades and tucked away health spas waiting to be discovered. The town centre also has more than 60 different cafes, pubs, bar and restaurants where you can take a break from the shops or enjoy a lively night out.

"The new guide will help more people to get the most out of their visit and discover the hidden places that make the area so special."

The guide was distributed to 13,000 local residents and is available for visitors to pick up from Balham Railway Station ticket office, Balham Library, Balham Leisure Centre and many local businesses. To request a hard copy contact Reima Jumpp, Town Centre Assistant on (020) 8871 6415 or email

The guide was produced by the Balham Partnership with support from Wandsworth Council.
