Fault Hits Parking Permit Renewal Reminder System

Wandsworth Council says fines issued to affected residents will be 'reconsidered'

Residents who fail to renew on time may be issued with PCNs

May 24, 2023

Wandsworth Council has acknowledged that there has been an issue with the issuance to residents of reminders that their parking permit has expired.

It says that not all permit holders are affected and that the fault is intermittent.

A statement from the council reads, “The fault is intermittent and has not affected all permit holders. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would assure permit holders that we are working with our contract providers to resolve the issue.”

An automatic refund is not being offered to any resident who receives a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for parking on their street but the council says that if you have received a parking ticket as a direct result of the problems it is having , your fine will be ‘reconsidered’.

There is no legal obligation for a council to issue a reminder of a permit expiry.

If you feel you have been issued a PCN unfairly click on this link to make a challenge.
