Four Dangerous Dogs Seized In The Borough

As Wandsworth police target Section 1 Dogs

On Wednesday 28th September 2011 Wandsworth borough police executed a series of warrants across the borough targeting Section 1 dangerous dogs.

The information had been given to police by members of the public that residents on the borough had pit bull type dogs.
This information was researched and warrants were obtained from Wimbledon Magistrates Court.

The Status Dogs Unit assisted borough officers in seizing one dog from Keevil Drive, one dog from Wainford Close and two dogs from Potterne Close in West Hill. One adult male was arrested on an unrelated matter and further arrests will follow.

Sgt Liz Symmonds said, ‘Wandsworth police will continue to be proactive in their efforts to remove section 1 dangerous dogs off the borough. The seizure of these illegal dogs shows our commitment to work with our partner agencies to keep the public safe. We will act upon all intelligence to help make Wandsworth a safer borough to live and work in.’
