'Invest In Wandsworth' Evening

Event showcases Wandsworth Town's investment opportunities

Businesses owners interested in becoming part of the billion pound regeneration of Wandsworth Town are being invited to take part in an investment event.

Invest in Wandsworth, which is open to anyone interested in expanding their business, focuses on investment opportunities in commercial, residential and office space.

It is due to take place at Ipsus marketing suite, on the corner of Hardwicks Square and Buckhold Road, in Wandsworth, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Thursday November 3.

Wandsworth Town - a designated regeneration zone close to south bank of the Thames - is benefiting from more than a £1bn of new investment, with the vast majority coming from the private sector.

Earlier this year, work began on two multi-million pound projects, which will see the creation of new retail and office space as well as hundreds of new homes.

The two-acre Wandsworth Business Village site between Broomhill Road and Buckhold Road is being redeveloped as part of an £80m redevelopment while a £75m mixed development is underway on the nearby 1.5 acre Cockpen House site.

Wandsworth Council is also expecting to receive a fresh planning application for the Ram Brewery site in the near future, which could pave the way for a significant transformation of the town's one-way system as well as creating mixed residential, retail and commercial units.

The area's regeneration process has already seen the opening of a new town centre library, the transformation of the shopping centre into the thriving Southside complex plus a host of redevelopments in Hardwick's Way, Smuggler's Way, Buckhold Road, South Thames College and overlooking King George's Park.

These schemes have brought new retail, leisure, residential, employment and educational opportunities to area and acted as magnets for new investment.
