Local Bookfest Is Back This Autumn

The Big Tent will be setting up on Wimbledon Common

The 11th annual Wimbledon BookFest is back this autumn bringing the worlds of literature, the arts, popular culture, film and sport to the Big Tent on Wimbledon Common.

BookFest which runs from October 5-15 is a little later than last year's event, but still has its main festival site on Wimbledon Common.

It features speakers from the worlds of literature, politics, current affairs and sport, in addition to film, music, theatre and children’s events in the festival site. 

Speakers already confirmed include Ali Smith, Salman Rushdie, AL Kennedy, Anthony Horowitz, Tracy Chevalier, Tessa Hadley, Elif Shafak, Kamila Shamsie, Liz Earle, Alexandra Shulman, Rev Richard Cole, Alan Johnson, Chris Patten, Jon Soppel, Fergal Keane, Chris Riddell plus a comedy night hosted by Joe Lycett. Sports events include Judy Murray and Chris Boardman.
