Queenstown Road Petrol Station Assistant Is Punched In Face


After he challenged a shopper he suspected of stealing

Police in Wandsworth have issued CCTV footage of a man they wish to identify and speak to in connection with the assault of a petrol station assistant.

On Wednesday 11 May at about 5.25pm the victim, a 25-year-old shop assistant working in a petrol station on Queenstown Road, was punched after challenging a man who he suspected of stealing an item from the store.

The suspect punched the victim in the face, before making off on a bicycle towards Chelsea Bridge.

The suspect is described as a black man with a bald head and a short beard. He was wearing one white trainer and one black trainer, a grey hooded jumper, black jogging bottoms and was carrying a black ‘Umbro’ holdall.

The victim did not require medical treatment.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man shown in the CCTV footage or who witnessed the assault.
