Battersea Bridge To Close For Essential Night-Time Maintenance

From 19th February to March 1st

Transport for London (TfL) will be carrying out essential maintenance works on Battersea Bridge from Sunday 19th February to Thursday 1st March. In order to minimise traffic disruption the work will take place overnight, between 8:30pm and 06:00am, Sunday to Thursday only.

TfL says that these essential works will not only give road users a smoother drive but will also help reduce carriageway noise and the need for future maintenance closures.

The works programme is as follows
Sunday 19 February 2012: advanced works on footvvays in preparation for resurfacing
Monday 20 February to Tuesday 21 February 2012:Battersea Bridge resurfacing
Wednesday 22 February to Tuesday 28 February 2012: (excluding Friday and Saturday), Battersea Bridge expansion joints replacement.

Battersea Bridge will be fully closed to vehicles on the above dates between 8:30pm and 06.00am.

Clearly signed diversion routes will be put in place whilst the bridge is closed. Buses which use Battersea Bridge will be placed on diversion during the overnight closures, and diversion routes will be signed at local bus stops.
