Police Appeal Following Fatal Collision


37-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene

Roads and Transport Policing officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Battersea on Tuesday 9 May. Police were called at around 2.15pm to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle in Vicarage Crescent, near the junction with Lombard Road.

The rider, a DJ who was known locally as C J Hammer, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the collision. It is believed the 37 year old was travelling south along Vicarage Crescent when he came off his motorcycle. The bike then collided with a HGV and subsequently a van, whilst the rider remained in the road.

The drivers of the van and HGV stopped at the scene and have assisted officers with their enquiries.

There have been no arrests.
