Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in Battersea this Tuesday evening (5 February).

Police were called to Wolsey Court on Westbridge Road just before 8pm to reports of a stabbing, and despite the best efforts of paramedics a 19-year-old died at the scene at 8.36pm.

Westbridge Road remains sealed off at the junctions of Battersea Bridge road at the east end and Battersea Square to the west, as a crime scene is in place.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan described the death as "heartbreaking" and said his thoughts are with the teenager's family.

Although formal identification has not been made, the victim's family have been informed.

The murder was committed minutes away from the school attended by Prince George, just off Battersea Square.
