Woman Is Attacked In Unprovoked Assault On Bus In Wandsworth

Police release CCTV stills in the hope that someone is recognised from the images

Detectives are appealing for help in identifying two people following an unprovoked assault on a bus in Wandsworth in the summer.

At approximately 2.30am on Friday 3 August, the four suspects were travelling on a Route 344 bus on Battersea Park Road close to Latchmere Road. As they were getting off the bus they attacked a 29-year-old female passenger.

One of the suspects hit the woman around the face with a small metal pole; two of the suspects spat at her.

Two girls - aged in their mid-teens - were interviewed in October in connection with the assault. They have since been released under investigation.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and would like to hear from anyone who recognises either of the suspects from the CCTV stills or who was on the bus and is yet to come forward and speak with officers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers via 101 quoting reference 773/3Aug. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
